CHAPTER 1: CARL’S JOURNEY – DISCOVERING THE LEFT & RIGHT BRAIN HEMISPHERE’S – SWITCHING ON!

Born In Hull, UK, In 1968: Separated through family difficulties, I grew up in children’s home from the age of 6 to 15 (1974-1983). Switching off in my last year at school I left with no qualifications and direction, soon to be caught up in the negative influences of life on the street. Going through depression, I reconnected with long distance running and playing soccer, instilled in me through school. Experiencing a mental breakdown and emotional break through around the age of 17-18, 1985/86, I connected to the universal flow of potential that would guide me through life – which I share in my first self-published book, ‘Activating Flow’. Taking control, I would go on a journey of healing and self-discovery, taking the journey from the head back to the heart. With many challenges ahead, by the age of 19 I was playing semi-professional soccer but soon got caught up in the ecstasy of dance and drug culture, between the age of 20 and 24, I went through two more mental break downs and emotional breakthroughs. Coaching soccer in the UK, America and Australia over the years, in 1994, I started Boxing amateur. Moving on to fight professional, I experienced my greatest shift. In 1997, finding my calling, I transitioned from boxing to work in alternative learning, at a school for youth experiencing emotional and challenging behaviour.
1997: BoxWize Skills + Brain Gym – Switch On, Tune In: Working in alternative I started developing my BoxWize Skills System, teaching the boxing fundamentals with no contact. Learning to control, release and channel emotional stress and physical energy positively, developing skills for life. Coming across a concept called Brain Gym, I started to learn about our left and right brain hemispheres. Discovering how through stress, information overload and over stimulation through excess technology, our right hemisphere of the brain can switch off. Stuck in our heads, becoming more left dominant. disconnecting us from emotional awareness and heart-mind intelligence. Integrating brain gym in to my BoxWize Skills System, I was teaching young people to activate both left, right and whole brain function, learning to switch on and tune in, developing movement and flow, releasing inner potential.
Youth Projects – Premiership Soccer – Great Britain Rugby League – Boxing World Champions: Developing BoxWize, sharing my life experience, guest speaking, delivering stress management presentations, I was working with alternative learning, within mainstream schools, with youth projects and the Hull Youth Justice for over 9 years (2004-2013) successfully preventing reoffending. Working with athletes and sports stars from the English Premiership soccer league, to Great Britain rugby league, setting boxing world title camps, working with boxing world champions. putting on BoxWize Challenge World Record Events, promoting my work and supported by top sports people and featured in the UK press/media on ITV, BBC, SKY TV and SKY NEWS.
Over 28 Years: Studying Stress – Human Biology > Human Technology: Studying stress, human biology and behavior for over 28 years, I created my concept human technology. Human biology: Stress – Fear – Reaction: Learning to understand how many of us are running our old reactive caveman software; freeze, flight, fight – stuck more in our heads, running a belief system on our internal hard drive and operating system. Human Technology: When we learn to move, exercise, pushing through a great workout, we can learn to switch on, activating our human technology, tuning in, we can learn to chuck out the trash, delete delete, upgrading our bright response software. Clearing old files – like trauma on our internal hard, boosting our operating system. Learning to process through our thoughts, feelings and emotions, energy in motion, developing our ability to respond – responsibility, improving emotional awareness and heart-mind intelligence. The truth is, we are electromagnetic interconnected to the electromagnetic universe, and if you’re not in flow, you’re in the way. My perspective is, we are now experiencing an epidemic in over thinking. with stress, life’s demands, pressures and the over stimulation of excess technology, negatively impacting mental health, contributing to the addiction crises in the world today.
Headucation: Schools Are Like Big Pharma Stress Factories: The Education system emphasizes the left brain dominance of language and logic over the right brains more intuitive and creative faculties, activated through rhythm and movement. The right brain absorbing sensory information, is more connected to the heart, helping us to integrate reasoning, managing emotions, addressing deeper issues, solution seeking and problem solving from a holistic perspective. Right Brain Switching Off – Left Brain Dominant: The overload of information of information, stress and programming, along with a lack of movement and exercise, can cause the right brain to be overridden, effectively shutting down and switching off. This results in blocked pathways in the brain, poor concentration, degraded listening skills, poor memory and more. Becoming more left brain dominant and stuck in our heads.
The Rise Of Designer Labels – ADD, ADHD…: Experiencing excess stress, the over stimulation of technology, EMF’s low energy electromagnetic frequencies, switching off at school, along with the vulnerability of reactive programming and social conditioning, a more left brain dominant world as amplified and accelerated the rise of designer labels. ADD – Attention Deficit Disorder, ADHD – Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, OCD – Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The mental health crises, addiction to Big Pharma prescription drugs and medication, are promoted in schools and society world wide.
More dominant left brainer’s are logical, analytical, linear thinkers, good with math, often in a career such as an accountant, scientist or computer programmer. More dominant right brainer’s are spontaneous, creative and more emotional than left-brainers, intuitive, good at problem solving, comfortable with the unknown, compassionate and more connected to the heart. Left, Right > Whole Brain Function: When the left and right brain is more in balance, we can feel more connected to our hearts, sensing a deeper knowing in our inner world of feel, sense, be, exercising our emotional awareness and heart-mind intelligence. It’s interesting, when somebody say’s ‘you’re not in the right mind’,
Left Brain Intellect > Integrating the Intellect With Our Intuition: Becoming left brain dominant we can struggle to integrate our left brain intellect with our right brain intuition, lacking whole brain function, along with reactive mind programming and social conditioning we can experience the internal conflict of the mind thinking and our hearts deeper sense of knowing.
The Matrix Mind Programming: Belief Systems – Mainstream Media > Google > Facebook… To understand what’s really happening in the world we have to go back in history.
